Those who prefer playing solo should stick with less crowded servers so that they won't have to worry about sharing kills, herbs, minerals, and skins with other players. It can be rather annoying for herbalists to track plants or mining rocks only to find another player there upon arrival. Also, during quests in which a certain creature must be killed, it can be rather difficult to hunt that creature down if others are in the area doing the same quest. Respawn times aren't always quick.
These are the reasons why solo players should stick with less crowded servers. The only problem they may come across is that they won't have any guild mates to share items, weapons, armor, and gold with. The best solution for them is to either join a guild and participate occasionally or create a few secondary characters for the sole purpose of making items for the main character. Also, having a few secondary characters on the same server allows for a player to store and keep more items in the bank.
Most players have at least one secondary character; some even have some on both factions! Since the Alliance and Horde can't send mail to one another, even on the same server, having a secondary character for the sake of contributing to the main character only works when both are part of the same faction and server. Some WoW players may think that leveling up the professions of extra characters is a waste of time, but doing so can be very worthwhile - especially for those who prefer running around solo and doing everything on their own.
