How to Play Roulette

The roulette is a game of chance of Italian origin (the Girella) introduced in France in the eighteenth century.

It consists of a disc divided into 37 (or 38, in American roulette) sectors numbered from 0 to 36, alternately colored red and black, while the zero (0), as the double zero (00) when present, is usually colored green or white (in very few cases). The disc is rotated into place by the manager of the dealer (the dealer) which subsequently launches a ball, originally in ivory, now in resin or Teflon: the ball is rotated in the opposite direction to that of roulette, and stop falling into one of the numbered areas, determining the winning number.

Language

The language commonly used by croupiers in the game of roulette is French, with which they are given a set of known sentences at each stage of the game:

* "Faites vos jeux, messieurs!" ( "Gentlemen, do your game!")

* "Les jeux sont faits, rien ne va plus" ( "The games are made, the bets are closed.")

* "Le numéro gagnant est ..." ( "The winning number is ...")

At the number drawn, the dealer is usually the number classified as rouge or noir (red or black), pair or impair (odd or even), and with passe or manque, or if the number is lower or higher than 18 .

There may be three types of table:

* French roulette, classic table with numbers from 0 to 36. It is the most widespread type, is different from the other two types because, in the case of removal of 0, bets on chance are imprisoned simply for being the hand if you quit a number corresponding to the bet chance earlier, the bet is returned in freedom and behave like a bet that can win or lose (rule dell'Eni prison). There is also an exemption conventionally used in most casinos in Europe: When the 0 comes bets on simple chance you can share with the example I pointed.Ad 20 pieces on red and leaves zero withdrawal from table 10 pieces, the bench forfeit the difference.

* Roulette English, as the French roulette, but without the rule prison. The carpet of the game is different for two reasons:

in the table there are three French dealer to play the game while in the English and American one, there are ads (near zero, Series 5 / 8 ) and the carpet is the cylinder with the three sectors of the ads ;

* American roulette, differs from the previous two for the presence of a box: the double zero (00), also green, as in roulette English, there is no rule prison and there are four types of ads and all play in full:

Betting and game systems

Combination on which you can bet several categories:

* Plain, individual numbers that, in case of victory, we win 35 times the money

* Cheval, horses, or pairs of numbers where, if you win, you win 17 times the money

Game systems

* Douzaine, dozens (first, second or third) in which, in case of victory, we win 2 times the money

* Columns, columns (first, second or third column of the table) in which, in case of victory, we win 2 times the money

There are game systems encoded on the international level, the most common are: the neighborhood of zero, the series 5 / 8 and .

* The neighbors of zero is a set of 17 numbers located on the cylinder to the right and left of zero, and you can play with a total of 9 chips, the numbers in question are 0-2-3-4-7-12 -- 15-18-19-21-22-25-26-28-29-32-35.

* The series 5 / 8 is composed of 12 numbers played with 6 chips out of 6 horses, the numbers are 5-8-10-11-13-16-23-24-27-30-33-36, and are located on the cylinder, so diametrically opposed to "near zero".

* The Orfanelli, so called because its not part of any of the above two series are the 8 remaining numbers, namely 1-6-9-14-17-20-31-34 (1 and 17 full others on horseback), you can play with 5 coins and they are located, in part on the left side and partly on the right side of the cylinder, which is usually represented by "0" at the top.

Another famous and popular bet is the one called "pot". Like the Orfanelli, is performed by focusing 5 coins, which will cover 8 numbers near zero on 26 and 19 full and horses 0-3, 12-15, 32-35.

Statistics [edit]

Roulette, like all games of chance in which there is a bench warrant bench himself a mathematical advantage on the player, which in this case is of about 2.70%, which is after all very small compared to games such as Lotto or Totocalcio where it is as much as 60%.

If you play a single number, the odds of winning are calculated for 2.70% of the tables French and English, and 2.63% for the American table, failing to win the dealer pays 35 times the post game. The maximum percentage of winning is that you can have by focusing on simple chance, that is red or black, odd or even, or the numbers 1 to 18 or 19 to 36: you have a winning percentage of 48.6 % for tables French and English, and 47.3% for the American table, these bets, while not guaranteeing a winning percentage of 50%, are paid "at par", ie a chip bet if they win a 'other.
