One of the best ways to cut time while level advancing is very simple. Just take more than one quest at a time. In fact, try to accept as many quests as possible. Once there are a number of quests begun, go on a few raids to complete them. Quests are the best source of experience and are a quick way to higher levels. Doing more than one quest at a time is an efficient way to level up. For even faster leveling, join with other players rather than trying to do it alone. For those quests that require a certain number of monsters to be killed, a small group can be a great help to finish as rapidly as possible. When looking for quests, try not to go backward to get a quest that might have been missed. These quests, being lower level, will not offer as much experience and are not worth the time it will take to complete them.
Another method of leveling up in short order is level grinding. Finding good places and ways to level grind can raise a character several levels almost instantly. A good place to start grinding is level 10. A suggested method of level grinding is to find some green quests and then kill as many green monsters as possible. Don't just stop there, however. Do the yellow quests, as well, and kill all the yellow monsters. Only do the yellow quests, however, if they can be done without much recovery time between bouts of grinding. Too much downtime defeats the point of power leveling.
Horde leveling is a third method of leveling up more quickly. This is a great technique for characters between level 30 and level 60. Horde leveling is completing quests with a large group, as opposed to smaller groups or solo. The best way to do this is with a group that is of a higher level than the character seeking to power level. Horde leveling makes the more dangerous levels of the World of Warcraft safer and opens up bigger level grinding opportunities. Just remember to spend those talent points that have been accumulated. These increase the potential for delivering damage, which makes monsters die faster. Fast is good, since speed is a main component of power leveling.
Moving from level 1 to level 60 does not have to take years. Using some of the methods outlined above, it can be a relatively quick trip. The first ten levels of World of Warcraft should be accomplished through taking as many quests as possible and doing as many simultaneously as can be handled. Getting from level 10 to level 29 should be handled through level grinding or playing with a few other players to finish quests efficiently and rapidly. The final stretch to level 60 from level 30 should be done through horde leveling, finding a big group of powerful characters to help.
